فيما سيطرت حالة من الحزن على الوسط الفني بعد وفاة الفنانة المعتزلة سهير زكي مساء اليوم (السبت) إثر معاناة طويلة مع المرض، تكشف «عكاظ» بعضاً من المعلومات والأسرار الدفينة التي احتفظت بها الراحلة في وجدانها، وأثرت بشكل مباشر في مسيرتها الفنية.
لقاء نادر
ظهرت سهير زكي في أحد اللقاءات النادرة في 2004 مع الفنانة فيفي عبده في برنامج «سلام مربع» على قناة «ART»، قالت خلاله بإن علاقتها بالرقص والفن بدأت في سن مبكرة، وهي في الـ 9 من عمرها.
كما تحدثت عن أولى خطواتها في عالم الفن، وقالت: «كنت في عيد ميلاد صاحبتي، وواحدة شافتني وقالتلي تعالي اشتغلي معايا، إنتي موهوبة، وأقنعت والدتي بالعافية».
اكتشاف الموهبة
وأضافت زكي «اكتشف موهبتي في الرقص سعيد أبو السعد والمخرج محمد سالم في عام 1962، والتليفزيون كان سببًا مباشرًا في شهرتي»، وقالت: «كنت في حفلة في إسكندرية، واتعرضت على التلفزيون، ومن وقتها اتشهرت».
وتابعت: عملت في السينما المصرية بالتمثيل والرقص، وشاركت في التمثيل بـ 74 عملًا ما بين أفلام ومسلسلات، ومن أبرز أفلامها: «مطلوب زوجة فورًا»، و«عائلة زيزي»، و«أنا وهو وهي»، و«زوجتي والكلب»، «الراجل اللي باع الشمس».
تزوجت سهير زكي من المصور محمد عمارة، وبدأت علاقتهما أثناء مشاركتها في فيلم سينمائي من تصويره، وأنجبت منه ابنها «محمد».
الشاه ونيكسون
وأكدت سهير خلالها لقائها مع فيفي عبده رقصها أمام محمد رضا بهلوي، شاه إيران السابق، كما أطلق عليها الرئيس الأمريكي الأسبق ريتشارد نيكسون لقب «أم زغروطة»، وجاء ذلك بعدما رقصت أمامه في إحدى الحفلات وسأل عنها الرئيس السادات بعد أن جذبه صوت «زغرودتها».
وقالت عن فترة حكم الرئيس الراحل أنور السادات: «أيام السادات وجيهان الله يمسيها بالخير أنا جوزت ولادهم وشاركت فى أعياد ميلادهم»، وأنها اشتهرت في تلك المرحلة بلقب «البنت البلطية».
صداقة قوية
وأوضحت زكي بأنها كانت تربطها صداقة قوية بالفنانة العالمية الراحلة إليزابيث تايلور، وقدمت لها هدية من خان الخليلي عبارة عن «منقوشة وغوايش وفصوص زرقاء، ووضعتها داخل علبة قطيفة».
عزومة العندليب وغضب الست
وفي ختام اللقاء، قالت إن أسعد أيام حياتها عندما عزمها العندليب عبدالحليم حافظ في منزله بالزمالك علي الغداء، كما ذكرت أنها رقصت على ألحان أغنية «أنت عمري» لأم كلثوم وهو ما أغضب كوكب الشرق.
اعتزال الفن
واعتزلت سهير زكي في بداية التسعينات، وأرجعت سبب اعتزالها إلى ارتفاع تكاليف العمل الفني والتي أصبحت عبئًا كبيرًا عليها.
While a state of sadness has enveloped the artistic community following the passing of the retired artist Suhair Zaki this evening (Saturday) after a long struggle with illness, “Okaz” reveals some of the information and deep secrets that the late artist kept in her heart, which directly influenced her artistic journey.
Rare Encounter
Suhair Zaki appeared in one of her rare interviews in 2004 with the artist Fifi Abdo on the program “Salam Murabba” on “ART” channel, during which she stated that her relationship with dance and art began at an early age, when she was 9 years old.
She also talked about her first steps in the world of art, saying: “I was at my friend’s birthday party, and one person saw me and said, ‘Come work with me, you are talented,’ and she convinced my mother with difficulty.”
Discovering the Talent
Zaki added, “My talent in dance was discovered by Said Abu Al-Saad and director Mohamed Salem in 1962, and television was a direct reason for my fame,” and she said: “I was at a party in Alexandria, and I was featured on television, and since then I became famous.”
She continued: “I worked in Egyptian cinema in acting and dancing, and I participated in 74 works between films and series, among her most notable films: ‘A Wife is Required Immediately,’ ‘The Zizi Family,’ ‘Me, Him, and Her,’ ‘My Wife and the Dog,’ and ‘The Man Who Sold the Sun.’
Suhair Zaki married photographer Mohamed Amara, and their relationship began while she was participating in a film he was shooting, and she gave birth to their son “Mohamed.”
The Shah and Nixon
Suhair confirmed during her meeting with Fifi Abdo that she danced in front of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the former Shah of Iran, and that former U.S. President Richard Nixon nicknamed her “Um Zaghroota,” after she danced in front of him at one of the parties, which caught the attention of President Sadat after he was attracted by the sound of her “zaghroota.”
She spoke about the era of the late President Anwar Sadat, saying: “During Sadat’s days and Jehan, may God bless her, I married their sons and participated in their birthday celebrations,” and she became famous during that period by the nickname “the girl from Balat.”
Strong Friendship
Zaki explained that she had a strong friendship with the late international artist Elizabeth Taylor, and she gifted her something from Khan El Khalili, which included “a carved piece and blue bracelets, and she placed them in a velvet box.”
The Nightingale’s Invitation and the Lady’s Anger
At the end of the interview, she said that the happiest days of her life were when the nightingale Abdel Halim Hafez invited her to lunch at his home in Zamalek, and she mentioned that she danced to the tunes of the song “Enta Omri” by Umm Kulthum, which angered the Star of the East.
Retirement from Art
Suhair Zaki retired in the early nineties, attributing her retirement to the rising costs of artistic work, which became a significant burden on her.
